About Me
Welcome. I am Naomi. My approach is warm, empathic, authentic, and collaborative. I believe a caring, non-judgmental, and trusting relationship between a therapist and client can support meaningful self-exploration, create the safety needed to process difficult emotions and experiences, and helps people experience deeper connection with themselves and others in their lives.
In my practice, I pay close attention to how early relationships and cultural experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others in the present. I am curious about long-standing narratives and beliefs that we hold about ourselves and others, as it supports greater understanding of what serves us and what hinders us in our pursuit of greater well-being. I respect and nurture the uniqueness and innate wisdom of my clients, and support people in coming into more awareness and alignment with their authentic selves. I work to create safety and trust with my clients to help them move through and heal from traumatic experiences.
I draw from many theoretical frameworks to guide my understanding and support of my clients in effectively addressing challenges in their lives, including: psychodynamic, attachment and intersubjective theories, narrative therapy, feminist and minority stress theories, and behavioral techniques. My approach is holistic, relational, and rooted in an appreciation of the racial/cultural contexts, sociopolitical systems, and personal identities that intersect and shape who we are and how we move through the world.
I am experienced in providing therapeutic support to people who identify as part of the LGBTQIAA+ community, including people who identify as transgender, gender non-binary/queer, or gender expansive.
